Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

PTFE is one of the lowest friction speckled anways. Polytetrafluoroethylene is also a lubricant and it as an additive to leaves smooth feeling of non stick coating on pans for cooking. It is non-reactive due to the strength of carbon–fluorine bonds, and so it was commonly used in containers and pipework for reactive chemicals.

Absolutely no, PFOA is used in the manufacture of any cookware coated with Teflon. However, when PFOA is used it provides little to no threat of danger. Teflon is not harmful on its own and cannot hurt you, for example by swallowing it.

Today’s nonstick and Teflon cookware is considered safe for everyday home cooking, as long as temperatures do not exceed 500°F (260°C). At high temperatures, Teflon coatings may begin to break down, releasing toxic fumes into the air. People around the world use nonstick pots and pans for their everyday cooking.

PTFE is well known for its exceptional properties such as being chemically inert, water repellent (hydrophobic), showing a low coefficient of friction and having very good insulation capabilities. The highest use of PTFE is its free rubrication for cookware, especially non-stick pots and pan.

All PTFE materials have an unlimited shelf life when stored under normal warehouse conditions. In fact, among a certain segment of the industry, the joke is that PTFE has “not been around long enough” (85+ years) to even say!

PTFE is a sturdy to some degree flexible tough non-elastic material with generally low elasticity yet adaptable in high volume resistivity and radial property while empowered at right countepunching. These have the lowest coefficients of friction, possibly lower than any other solids. +

It is also insoluble in any other solvent at room temperature. It has a number of interesting properties such good chemical resistance, high thermal stability, low dielectric constant and electrical insulation, and non-wetting. These properties make PTFE a desirable material for many applications.

Teflon™ fluoropolymers such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) are the most versatile due to their chemical inertness and temperature range from -200 to 260 °C (-328 – 500°F).

Tough Fluorocarbon Polymer Dt is a cable insulation material which supports cables provide high performance in demanding circumstances and environments.
