Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Polyurethane plastic (e.g. PU) is a special type of polymer, which behaves like rubber and can be stretched numerous times without damage, yet it becomes hard when not extended.

Factors Influencing Absorbance in Different Polyurethanes While thermoset polyurethanes can have nearly zero water absorption for their physical constant and molecular, contrast with those of other local material properties.

Cushioning Flexible polyurethane foam is used today in many of the mattress, pillow, sofa, teepee and lounge chair products we use. Flexible foam can come in nearly any combination of shape and density.

Polyurethane is a very hard material and provides excellent cut-and-TEAR resistance. This trait is related to many desirable properties MAPS traits represent Unlike metal, plastic and rubber materials; polyurethane elastomers frequently present a longer service life in very abrasive environments.

It is not toxic in and of itself.

One can expect his or her gloss oil-based varnish, polyurethane and Danish oils to last 10/20 years; the satin finishes will most probably fail within a few months because of broken driers by pigments/flattening agents. But water-based coatings and paints can last longer than three years as well.

Applications include flexible foam seating, rigid foam insulation panels, microcellular foam seals and gaskets, durable elastomeric wheels and tires, automotive suspension bushings, electrical potting compounds; high performance adhesives; surface coatings and injection molded parts.

Polyurethanes can be grouped into two main categories, polyester andpolyether. Both are incredibly useful for a wide variety of industries. The elastomers polyester urethane and polyether urethane have elastic qualities with generally different performance characteristics.

If your polyurethane finish is matte, satin, gloss or semi-gloss, each flooring has its own level of shine. Matte This type of finish features the least amount shine in fact it will make your floor seem quite natural with a low luster.
