Texas State Technical College (TSTC) recently held a free, one-week America’s Cutting Edge (ACE) computer numerical control (CNC) machining training bootcamp for high school students. The program, designed to introduce students to the world of CNC machining and help them explore career paths in manufacturing, was a success.
Students participating in the bootcamp gained hands-on experience with CNC equipment, learned about safety protocols, and received an introduction to coding. The program provided valuable insight into the high-demand field of precision machining and the rewarding careers available in the manufacturing industry.
Given the positive response, TSTC plans to hold a second ACE CNC bootcamp in July. The college also offers a Precision Machining Technology program for students interested in pursuing a career in this field.
